There is no excuse for not reading the Notams and with version 1.3 of Pre-Flight you won't need one. As you enter origin destination and alternate fields, the application automatically extracts the notams for those fields, the relevant fields en-route and for the FIRs you will cross. If the notam text contains coordinates, it will be shown on the map along with your intended route. The notam source is the FAA and it covers the USA as well as Europe, Australia, South America as well as most other countries.

What in improvement!!

I had to update my review from the last one I wrote. The latest update just proves that the developer listens. A few improvements were recommended and the developer got right on it and made them. I see another update is coming, and I am looking forward to see how much better this app is going to be. I believe this is a great investment for any pilot, we can never have enough information when it comes to pre-flight planning and safety. Buy it!

When I originally purchased this app (v1.1) I was somewhat dissappointed although I could see that it had potential as a very useful tool for general aviation pilots and student pilots who fly VFR cross-country flights. After contacting the developer and suggesting some needed improvments in making it more user-friendly and informative, the developer took my suggestions into account and included them in this latest version (v1.2). Now I am quite pleased with the operation of this app. It is well worth the $17 cost. I am a flight instructor and I plan to use it when instructing my student pilots during their cross-country training phase. Kodos to the developer. Keep up the good work.

I am a recreational pilot and I usually only fly 2 or 3 times per month. I have only 82 hours so far. I have checked the preflight against a number of my flight plans and have found it to be quite accurate and very helpful as a check against my manual calculations. The app is very easy to use. Didn't take long to set up. I will now use the app as a backup to my pencil and ruler and "whizz wheel" calculations. Setting up the maps for my local area of South Australia was easy and dragging the pin around the map has allowed me to set up waypoints and landmarks. A very good program for me.

Handy little thing

Quite nice and handy to use (among other flight preparation apps for iPhone, I have them all..). Pluses: - automatic real wind data a HUGE plus - very nice to be able to add waypoints via map interface. - has metric values available Missed features: - ability to import/export planes and waypoints. On the other hand, a pilot should not use this kind of an app without personally going through all the POH values of the actual aircraft. - automatic import of QNH and OAT (you can get the wind data, why not QNH as well from a nearby airport etc?). - alt/QNH/OAT slides a bit too tight for average VFR use, very hard to get 1000ft from between 500 and 1500ft - non-existing seats should be omitted from the W&B entry table (if no arm length has been entered) to de-clutter the interface -> No fatal minuses. Nice. Will use this in action. Thanks!

Kiváló progi repüléstervezéshez. Gyakorlatilag egyedülálló funkciója, hogy az útvonalon várható szelet is előre jelzi és számol is vele, így pontosítja a repülési időket, fogyasztást, stb. Gyakorlatilag minden benne van a térképtől a mass and balance számításon át. Egyéni repülőgépet is lehet definiálni lajstrom szerint, így pontosan a te általad repült gép adataival fog számolni. A progi tervezésre való, tehát nem moving map és térképként a google maps szolgáltatást használja. Minden GA pilótának ajánlom.

Helemaal COOL!

Vorige week Pre-Flight gebruikt gebruikt voor een vlucht van Groningen naar Rotterdam via diverse custom waypoints. Het plannen van de vlucht nam niet meer twee minuten in beslag en de koers en tijden bleken dead on target te zijn. Mooi om te zien dat de door Pre-Flight voorspelde wind component in het zuiden duidelijk anders was dan in EHGG. Deze app is helemaal cool en iedere Euro cent waard.

Bespaart veel tijd bij het plannen. Vooral de voorspelling van wind op hoogte is geweldig. Kan niet wachten op de volgende opdate!
